Dear Scout Parents,

Next Pack Meeting
Our next pack meeting is Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 pm. Normally each den has a responsibility to help out at a pack meeting, check with your den leader on how you can participate. For this meeting,

  • All Bears are to arrive 15 minutes early to setup chairs and then prepare to conduct the flag ceremony
  • Webelos 1 are “greeters” so they should be 5 minutes early (greet scouts and families as they enter the gym) and their parents then supervise the game
  • Tigers will provide a skit
  • Bears provide refreshments and will do cleanup
Since we weren't able to launch our rockets at the Air Zoo due to inclement weather, we will launch them at the Pack Meeting in April. Please have the boys bring their rockets and engines to the meeting for a fun filled launch fest.

If your son did not go on the Air Zoo trip but has a rocket he would like to launch, please bring it. We are going to limit the size of the rockets to only those that handle "A" size engines.

St. George Feast Day April 23rd
St. George is the patron saint of scouting – as he is one who epitomizes the qualities of selflessness and both moral and physical courage which is seen as being among the aims of scouting. Review this saint with your son on April 23rd perhaps by reading the following prayer.

“Faithful servant of God
and invincible martyr, Saint George;
favored by God with the gift of faith,
and inflamed with an ardent love of Christ,
thou didst fight valiantly
against the dragon of pride,
falsehood, and deceit.
Neither pain nor torture,
sword nor death could part thee
from the love of Christ.

I fervently implore thee
for the sake of this love
to help me by thy intercession
to overcome the temptations that surround me,
and to bear bravely
the trials that oppress me,
so that I may patiently carry the cross
which is placed upon me;
and let neither distress nor difficulties
separate me from the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Valiant champion of the Faith,
assist me in the combat against evil,
that I may win the crown promised to them
that persevere unto the end.”

Spring Service Project – School Cleanup – Saturday, April 21st from 9-11 am
Volunteers are needed for the annual grounds cleanup held at SSA Plymouth. Sign up at the pack meeting or respond to this email noting how many to expect from your family. You can come any time from 9 – 11 am. Bring gloves, rakes, wheel barrows, and shovels. Plan on spreading mulch and picking up trash around the grounds to beautify our Charter Organization. It's a great way for siblings to earn service hours too.
